西洋文化研究演習という名前で出している演習、ラジオ・ドラマを作るのがその内容です。今までやったのは、
1999年『石棺』
2000年『ガラスの動物園』
2001年『ラヴ・レターズ』
2002年『アルジャーノンに花束を』
2003年『星の王子さま』
2004年『ロミオとジュリエット』
2005年『夏の夜の夢』（第１期）
2005年『スペードの女王』（第２期）
2006年『るつぼ』
そして今年が『罪と罰』（多分、この順番だと思うのですが）。2004年に『ロミオとジュリエット』をやったら希望の学生が多く、それならと次の年に二つ出したら、『夏の夜の夢』はそこそこ来たものの、『スペードの女王』は惨敗。それで、ロシアものの今年は不安ではあったのですが、40人来ました。
現在、担当を決めて脚本にしたものを吹き込んでいるところです。この演習のよいところは、もとが小説の場合、脚本にするために、とにかく読まなくてはいけないということ。えっ？ 何がよいのかって？ ちょっと教師よりの考えですかね。それでも、今時の大学で、「ラスコーリニコフはさあ」とか「ソーニャはどうのこうの」なんて学生が言っている空間は、ちょっと自慢ですよ。もっとも、多分、全部読まないで脚本を作った学生も（笑）。
もう一つよいところは、色々な学部の学生が集まるということ。最初の『石棺』は、チェルノブイリのことを扱った脚本で、工学部の原子力の学生さんが来たり、『アルジャーノンに花束を』の時には、「障害児」教育に関心がある学生さんが来たりで、こちらもためになります。
来年以降、やりたいのは、一番はミヒャエル・エンデの作品。ただ、ファンタジー系は人が大勢来そうで、敬遠したい気持ちもあるんですよね。
