11月10日の土曜日、新潟市内の映画館シネ・ウインドで開催された
トークイベント「佐藤真が遺したもの」に、文コミ生四人が出演しました。
佐藤真はドキュメンタリー映画作家です。
対象を鋭利に切り取るだけでなく、対象とともに考える姿勢の映画作家です。
新潟県では、新潟水俣病をテーマにした『阿賀に生きる』（1992）と
新潟県出身の写真家牛腸茂雄をテーマにした『SELF AND OTHERS』(2000)
を撮っています。
しかし、大変な残念なことに、今年他界されました。
今年は、佐藤監督だけでなく、エドワード・ヤン、ミケランジェロ・アントニオーニとたくさんの映画監督が亡くなっており、寂しいの一言に尽きますが、
かれらの映画作品はわたしたちに遺されています。
作品を上映し、観て語ることが、遺された者の使命です。
今回のトークイベントは、若い世代と佐藤作品の出会いの場でした。
文コミ生四人が『阿賀に生きる』を観て、
ドキュメンタリー映画とはなにか、映画を撮るとはどういうことかを討論しました。
普段はあまり口にしないだろう意見を、他人に伝える貴重な機会だったと思います。
今後もこうした機会があれば、挑戦していってほしいです。
佐藤真監督作品は現在シネ・ウインドで上映中です。
