大学院の演習では、現在、チェーホフの『三人姉妹』をロシア語で講読中。通して読むのは３回目か４回目、拾い読みは数限りない作品でありながら、「あれ？ これどういう意味だっけ？」と辞書に手を伸ばす瞬間があるのが情けないですね。過去に、チェーホフ・ファンの社会人学生とチェーホフの４つの戯曲を１年に１作という感じですべて、１対１で読んだのに、それでも忘れている。（＾＾）； 今回の読み終わりは、11月くらいかな？ ○○さん？
授業というのは、学生のためのものでありながら、一番勉強になるのは、実は、教員です。ラジオ・ドラマ『罪と罰』の話にもどるのですが、第５部の一で、ヒロインのソーニャに援助する意味でお金を渡し、その時に彼女のポケットに密かに別の金まで入れ、第５部の三で、彼女に「金を盗んだ」と言いがかりをつける、ルージンという男がいるのですが、一では、ソーニャのことを正しく、「ソフィヤ・セミョーノヴナ」と呼びながら、三では、「ソフィヤ・イワーノヴナ」と間違えて呼んでいるんですね。最初、学生がそういう風に脚本を書いてきた時に、「これ、間違ってるんじゃないのか？」と調べてみたら、そういう風になってるんですね。念のため原書にあたっても、勿論、そうなっていました。
一では、レベジャートニコフという人物が、盛んに、ソーニャの名前をルージンとの会話で出してきて、「ソフィヤ・セミョーノヴナ」と繰り返しているためにルージンも覚えていたのに対し、三では、いきなり彼女の名前を呼ばなくてはいけない、しかも、、イワーノヴナになる女性が他に二人もいるために、ルージンは混乱したのでしょう。ドストエフスキイは、そんなルージンのいい加減さを描きたかったのでしょうね。
本当はどうなのかは、江川卓先生が生きていらしたら、きいてみたいところなのですが．．．あっ、でも、同僚にドストエフスキイの専門家がいるのでした。今度きいてみようかな。
