突然ではありますが、山岸凉子『アラベスク』（1971-1975)です。
今年山岸先生は現在連載中のバレエマンガ『舞姫 テレプシコーラ』で
第11回手塚治虫文化賞マンガ大賞を受賞されました。
その原点ともいうべき作品が『アラベスク』です。
ときは1970年代、場所はソヴィエト。
落ちこぼれバレリーナ、ノンナが、ミロノフ先生（もちろん男前）の指導のもとに
ぐんぐん成長してゆく、スポ根半分、恋愛半分の物語です。
お話じたいは、そう新しいものではありませんが、
とにかく絵が素晴らしい！！
マンガですから絵は動きません。
しかし、跳躍の瞬間なんかは、飛んでるんです（なんか表現がイマイチですね）。
いや、飛びつつ止まってるんです（ちょっとは伝わりますかね）。
そうそう、ピタっとポーズがきまる、その瞬間が描かれているのです。
この絵の直前は動いていたな、と、こちらに想像させるんです。
バレエマンガの傑作は『アラベスク』以外にもたくさんあります
（山岸作品ならほかに『黒鳥 ブラック・スワン』や、有吉京子先生の『SWAN』などなど）。
バレエは少女マンガ的ヴィジュアルと本当に相性がいいんですな。
そういえば、「長い手足に、瞳に星、背中には花」という
いわゆる少女マンガ的デザインを整備した高橋真琴先生も、
バレエマンガが得意でした。
いやはや、素敵ですなぁ〜、といいつつも、我は汗だくの午後であります。
